What lepoly optimizes automatically

When you upload a model, lepoly automatically:

Converts textures to efficient formats (WebP, KTX2)

Resizes oversized textures to a maximum of 4096×4096 px

Generates mipmaps for smooth rendering at different distances

Compresses using Basis Universal for fast streaming

Why this matters

Unoptimized textures can make models slow to load, especially on mobile or with slow connections. lepoly's automatic optimization ensures models load quickly without sacrificing visual quality.

Customizing optimization

You can override the defaults from the model's Processing settings:

Set a custom max texture resolution

Disable compression for archival purposes

Re-run optimization with different settings

Original files preserved

Your original uploaded file is always preserved and can be downloaded at any time — optimization creates new derived versions, it doesn't overwrite the original.
